Rain & Freeze Sensors

Several cities in the Metroplex are requiring that all sprinkler systems including existing systems be equipped with a rain and freeze sensors. If it is not required it is still a great idea to have one installed. Below are some of the frequently asked questions.

Q.  Why have a rain & freeze sensor installed?

A.  Rain & freeze sensors are a great water saving device. In addition, they can take away the liability issue of your system running while it is freezing outside which could cause ice on sidewalks and streets.

Q.  Who can install the sensors

A.  Only a licensed irrigator, licensed irrigation technician or the homeowner may install the sensor. Yard crews may not install sensors without a license.

Q. Can these sensors be installed on old controllers?

A. Yes. These sensors can be installed on almost any controller, even the older mechanical wheel style controllers.

Q. How much does it cost?

A. Irrigation Pros installs rain & freeze sensors for $199 plus tax. Currently we are running an internet special for $159 plus tax. Please mention the site for discount.

Q. Why Choose Irrigation Pros?

A. Prompt, courteous service and quality products at a fair price. A uniformed, trained technician will install the rain and freeze sensor as well as check your sprinkler system to make sure that it is operating properly and adjust sprinkler heads that are out of alignment.
